The conversion rates are terrible, most advertising affiliate programs are scams (even the big names), your competing with thousands and thousands of other websites for seo, and adult webmasters are much more ruthless in their seo practices... For instance I think Adult Friend Finder pays out an average of 1/3 of a penny per unique... just compare that to google adsense and you'll realize how bad things are.
